We understand that this is your work and having to pay someone else commission on it is not your first choice. Well remember we mentioned above that you can link any work you display on this site back to your own website or to your contact details so you always have the option of selling your work direct to the customer for no commission fee to us at all. That is already excellent exposure and totally free.

   So, we’re not tying you in or forcing you to pay us a commission. For artists who do choose to sell through us we really do a lot of work on your behalf to earn that commission. We want to do everything possible to build a lasting partnership between us. Pickin'Art uses the open source osCommerce platform to provide secure online transaction so our customers are protected from fraud. We also handle insurance and refund policies (also important for customers). We place ads for the work for sale with us in Google, Yahoo and other online publications. We organize online exhibitions so your work gets greater exposure and we sponsor events and other charities in our overall effort to drive more customers to this site. Finally, though we said we will never charge more than 35% commission we will quite happily reduce it when we are organizing special events (like the online exhibitions) to help acquire customers.

   Now here’s the best. You will only ever see us asking you for a commission once we have found an offer for you. If we have a customer interesting in buying from you we will contact you by email to check that you still agree to the sell at the price you set and we will clearly state what our commission fee is. If we have reduced our commission rate then we’re only reducing our cut. You still get your full asking price. Nothing will ever be hidden from you and you always have the choice of changing your mind.
